Hi Mamas!
My name is Katie, wife to Christopher, Mom to our 19mo old son, Maverick and our two Golden Retrievers Marley & Journey!
A little bit about myself, I was born and raised in Howell NJ, grew up on the Jersey Shore until my family relocated to Schnecksville, PA where I finished out my High School years. I have a total of five brothers, two from my side and three from my husband’s. It’s no surprise to have so many guys on both sides of our family, but I am now blessed with two new sisters! I grew up playing both Ice and Field Hockey (still do), which eventually led to various travel & collegiate coaching opportunities over the years. I was recruited to play D1 Field Hockey at the University of Connecticut where I also played Ice Hockey! Aside from becoming a wife and Mom, this was one of my greatest life achievements to be part of a x2 National Championship Team full of incredibly talented women (some who are Mamas now too)! I earned my BA in Sociology with duel minors from UConn in 2016, then moved back home to complete my Masters of Social Work Degree in 2020 from Marywood University. Since then, I have held a Clinical Social Work position with the Virginia Beach Psychiatric Center for the past four years! My future goal is to finish out my PhD, and end my career in a workplace I hold near and dear to my heart, Hospice.
Some Fun Facts…My husband and I met almost 10 years ago, but it wasn’t until May of 2020 (after our wedding in March was postponed x3 days prior due to Covid), that I officially moved to Virginia where my husband is currently stationed in the Navy. Ironically, Virginia is a special place to me as this was my family’s yearly vacation spot to Bush Gardens & the location (ODU) of our first National Championship— Talk about full circle! Four years later, we are happily married and welcomed our beautiful son into the world (in the middle of Chief Season) Sept of 2022. Nothing says I Love You more than a pandemic and a promotion!
Aside from blue being my favorite color, it’s often a phrase I catch myself chanting, I guess you could say it’s something I married into when you hear me say the words, “GO BLUE!” Over the years, Livonia, MI, has become my home-away-from-home full of so many cherished memories with more to come! We hope one day, long after the military, to settle down back in the area with our Family!
I joined FIT4MOM in April of 2023 and have never felt more empowered than when I am working out with so many remarkable women! As Mother’s Day approaches, I often think back when I lost my mom to Breast Cancer in 2019. I wasn’t sure how I would become a Mother without her guidance, but when you have a Mother-In-Love like mine, and a village as strong as ours, you’ll never feel lost in life!
I owe a special thanks to this group of Moms who taught me there is absolutely nothing stronger or more beautiful than Motherhood. I don’t think I would be the mother I am today without them and the continued support from my Friends & Family!
